• Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification Essential: Relevant academic background to a Bachelor’s level (Education/Social Sciences/International Development Studies) and, ideally, previous experience as a classroom teacher. Highly desirable: acquired training and ToT certificates in the areas of EiE. Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications 
• 4-5 years experience within education in emergencies
• minimum 2 years working with an INGO’s
• Knowledge of the local education context and familiarity with international education frameworks and standards – Essential. 
• Knowledge of current principles and practices of Child Protection, Child Safeguarding, and Children’s Right to Education.  
• Knowledge and experience of effective classroom teaching and learning methodologies, inclusive education, curriculum development or learning attainment, differentiation, child-centred learning, assessment and education policy development. 
• Strong medium to long-term planning skills. 
• Excellent knowledge and agency of the Syrian context, especially in the North of Syria and neighbouring host countries. 
• Excellent knowledge and competency of the education sector in emergencies, recovery and development and its programming. 
• Strong knowledge of education actors, counterparts and capacities. 
• Knowledge of common local Education issues and opportunities. 
• Computer skills, mainly in Microsoft Office package – Essential
